The government is using AI for the things it’s least suited for but don’t worry, the people at the top insisting it be used everywhere have no idea what it is, how it works, or what it’s useful and not useful for

Yo. This is the union calling for a boycott. Here in America people like to say "Well I was already boycotting Starbucks!" No you were not. You were just choosing not to buy their stuff. That is not a boycott. A boycott is an organized, collective activity. "I" don't boycott: we do.
We have power in numbers, and we'll continue to fight for a better Starbucks.

Support us by BOYCOTTING STARBUCKS until the company finalizes fair union contracts with workers!

1. Flock tracks and stores every passing vehicle, not just crime suspects.

2. Flock makes huge profits for itself and its investors by trading away our privacy.

3. Flock's tech is ripe for abuse — police officers have already been fired for using it to stalk women.

Should we keep going?
Why Are So Many People Upset About Flock Cameras?
Flock Safety’s automated license plate-reading cameras, used by thousands of law enforcement agencies in the U.S., have drawn intense criticism from civil liberties groups.

Once again: German universities were the envy of the world before the Nazis rose to power and took an ideological wrecking ball to the entire enterprise. If you want to know how long it took for German universities to recover… they haven’t.
It’s truly astonishing to see how comprehensively the US government is tearing down every part of the system that has made it up until now a world-leading power in science, research, and technological development. The entire world will suffer from this wanton destruction.

obviously the science here is egregious, but it's also so embarrassing to contact your institution's press office and have them launder this nothing article into the mainstream media. what are we even doing
The shit you can get away with in nutrition research is egregious. Even 24 hour food recall diaries are notoriously unreliable, but asking people what they ate in *the past year* is a joke. You can't track a 10% drop in UPF consumption if your input data is off by 80%!

This is interesting because it challenges two widely held political assumptions: 1) that people love it when everything at the supermarket is at least $8.99 and 2) that the easiest way to win voters over is to go on TV every day and say that you need to build a big event space or you'll die.

Now establishment Democrats are confused as to why they’re getting rejected.

Because yall came together and pushed Biden in 2024 while denying a genocide.
