This sums things up nicely. I was reading the "Swallow and Amazons" books at 12 (as well as Heinlein) , but I didn't recommend them to my own children.
I recently dipped my toes into the science fiction and fantasy book discourse on Facebook, and I find I have things to say about the "Golden Age" of science fiction. By which I do not mean being twelve. Stick that in your back pocket, though, as it's really useful for understanding some people.

So, that's that. After over 40 years developing software for a living, I have retired. Now I'll have enough time to do all the other stuff.

An espionage novel without any espionage. A thriller with no thrills. Actually rather pleased with how this one’s turned out.
