I had cancer. There; I said it. It's gone now... it's been a few months. I'm better and it's fine now. It turned out to be nothing. We caught it early. At the time, there was a limit to people I could bring myself to tell.

In expressing my thoughts, I find myself briefly contemplating on the best way to express myself — choice candidates of words applying for the job, seeming to fit in precisely as I intend, and swiftly hired — only to find that I haven't said what I wanted to say...

I am a coward, though perhaps loving enables me so, as I only wish to continue on and snuggle into the coziest pockets of life and dream my little dreams and avoid the same pain which makes such pockets so darn cozy to begin with.

If only I could express the joy that comes from the very idea of sun showers. Would it be the same as the warmth of a brownie melting cold vanilla ice cream?

What is it about misogyny that enables the dehumanization of women? How are people limited in their thinking? Do they focus more on perceived differences? Is what they're told about women so flattening to a woman's identity as a human being so limited? What is a human to a misogynist?

We can afford to house people.

We can afford to feed people.

We can afford to give people healthcare.

The money is there. We just need to put people in office who will do it.

I woke up this morning and the walls of my bedroom were shaded gray by an overcast sky. Then, the almost imperceptible noise of drizzling rain just barely faded in and out of hearing and a quiet grumble of thunder soon after.

Will we wait to see whose side they're on before offering grief or defensive arguments for those who have fallen? Will we hear that a person was slain and decide whether or not to care based on some kind of scale of righteous morality? Aren't there situations in which murder should be decidedly bad?

If there are mermaids, but instead of fish, it was shrimp, would the top or bottom half be shrimp? Would the other half be a girl or fish? 🧜🏻‍♀️🦐🐟 (I delight in the idea of a fairy sized mermaid, but wonder about the logistics... 🤔)
