The lawyer for the Venezuelan man shot by ICE yesterday says he was discharged from the hospital and transferred to ICE detention while the bullet was still inside of him, and that in Pearsall he's not received any pain meds and was forced to sleep on the floor.

I have been seeing confusion about this. He entered legally through the CBP One process, under which people were given one year of humanitarian parole and then placed into removal proceedings.
However, Trump cancelled CBP One parole and ICE says he was since ordered removed (details unconfirmed).

A kinda scary thing is that we know El Nino is the strongest it's ever been, by a LOT, and that could mean anything from "lots of snow in the Sierra Nevadas this year, whoop whoop watershed!" to "a very large number of California neighborhoods slide away" and there's no real way to no which it'll be

When I first moved to Calgary in 2006, I would regularly tell people outside Alberta that things were weird but not as weird as they seemed from the outside. Now I tell people that they're weirder.
At the conference I attended this weekend there were a lot of panels on Alberta, the referendum, separatism, etc. To be clear, there were very sober, thoughtful experts, and my takeaway was this:

The "Christian" bigots over at American Family Radio have been really flogging this story. No surprise they were leaving out a lot of critical details.
A couple went on a Fox News podcast and claimed the state of #Massachusetts took away their teen because they won't help the teen transition. But it's actually because the father was charged with beating and threatening to kill the teen and the mother was charged with witness intimidation.
