Chicago teen shares his experience in ICE detention centers:

I am 18 years old and I just graduated from high school in Chicago. I was in ICE detention for 2 months and 10 days. They kept me in solitary for 2 days for no reason, alone in a room with just a toilet. They never let us go outside.

One of today's political prisoners.

Cartoonist & zine maker Daniel Rolando Sanchez Estrada wasn't even at the ICE protest. He was accused of "moving" a box of anti-Trump zines THE NEXT DAY.

A rightwing judge sentenced him to 30 years!

Just for possessing zines.

The darkness is descending.
A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car.

Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.

PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is now PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome). The name change follows a multiyear process stemming from a recognition that ovarian cysts aren't the primary aspect of the condition, which affects multiple body systems, and many patients don't have them.

One reason Republicans are banning books and classes on race is because reading even one book about Jim Crow or Reconstruction makes it clear that they are hoping to reinstate segregation.
Wow. Chaos on the Tennessee House floor. Tennesseans yelling in the gallery and Democrats locking arms in one final stand, as Republicans vote to advance new congressional maps that will carve up the state’s only majority-Black congressional district.

The state legislature tried to make a 63 percent black city live with a statue honoring a slave trader, KKK leader, and convict lessor. Now they’re going to make sure Memphians are represented in Congress by someone who hates them, and is terrified to step foot in the city. (Or any city.)

"Benches are where optimistic visions of civic life meet reality. To remove them, or to curate who gets to sit, is to abandon the work of defining a civic ideal and determining, together, how to live up to it."

NEW: Why benches are slowly disappearing from public spaces — and why we need them back:
The Disappearance of the Public Bench
Benches are microcosms of an expansive debate about who belongs in urban public spaces. When they are removed or made uninviting, we lose more than just a place to rest.
