"Investors" as a class are the dumbest people alive, this is sadly something they actually need to hear. People rag on CEOs (deservedly so a lot of the time) but I sincerely pity them for having to answer to these people. Investors constantly try to eat the seed corn.

I've seen some of these on Cybertrucks and very new models that don't really have an excuse, but not that many people are really online enough to have known Elon was a shithead before 2024. Even then, only very in-the-know people knew the real him before 2020, and that was only six years ago

This is the problem with the modern megacorp today. They simply can't not try to get all the money. You can show them something that can get a lot of money, a ton of money, even, but if it isn't all the money, if it isn't desperately grabbing for the maximum possible amount of money, they say no

There's many issues with tumblr, like all social media, but one of the great undersung features of tumblr is that follows are 90% private. You can't see who follows who or anyone's follower/following count. You only know who follows you and who you're following.
