War powers resolution fails. 49-50.

All three of these vulnerable GOPers vote NO:
Dan Sullivan
Roger Marshall
Jon Husted

John Cornyn and Mitch McConnell both voted no, too.

And John Fetterman.

Looks like we’re using Gitmo to imprison immigrants again. This is an ICE charter airline owned by ICE’s flight broker using the callsign they use for all their ICE flights.

Bernie has some issues with his endorsing. Oklahoma has an excellent House candidate, Jena Nelson, doing townhalls in 77 counties. Bernie endorsed an unknown postcard sending, rarely voting, photo-op man who lost his primary.

Same time, he endorsed Platner in Maine--2 unqualified men.

Pattern?

Todd Blanche, Trump’s former lawyer turned acting AG, flew down to “meet” with Ghislaine Maxwell… and suddenly she’s in a minimum security camp where she gets puppy playtime & custom meals.

He never stopped being Trump’s personal attorney. He just changed offices.

Blanche must not be confirmed.

My random Sam Neil story.

An actor friend of mine was cast in a small role on Peaky Blinders. Never receives his script pages. Discovers his role has been pushed to non speaking background, which is less fun/less money. Sam Neil spots him looking dejected on set and finds out.

If you had to prove citizenship today in order to vote, would you have one of these?

📌US passport: $165

📌Certified birth certificate: $10 to $35 (varies by state/county)

📌Naturalization or citizenship certificate: $555 (replacement fee)

REAL ID doesn’t prove citizenship. #SAVEActIsPayToVote

And now we now exactly why top WH officials all canceled going anywhere this weekend. Had to set up yet another fake attempt to justify trump's ballroom. 🙄

These prosecutors who made my family’s life hell for a year are criminals. I want justice and we’ll seek it. This can’t happen again.
Speaking, I assume, to the defendants, Perry thinks "you are entitled to a briefing and perhaps a hearing on the issue of vindictive prosecution should you choose to raise it.

She also raises the possibility of sanctions and possible ethics violations for prosecutorial misconduct.

Sen. John Fetterman: "I've seen a picture. Assuming it's not AI, so far the reflecting pool looks good. If that's $13 million, really, that's small. We do need a ballroom."

Just pointing out that the Whitehouse Correspondents' Dinner would never be hosted at the Whitehouse, and trying to use this "attack" as an excuse to justify the Epstein Ballroom is kinda of ...dumb.

no-one's been traumatized. Anyone with an ounce of critical thinking skills knows this was a show, just like ever single other time someone tried to "assassinate" him.
People here are being really shitty, including at fellow journalists who've been traumatized, and you will regret those posts. Or should.

Also this does not help your political cause, whatever that might be.

Scandals and rock bottom ratings. Must be time for another staged assassination attempt.

NEW: Kansas lawmakers override governor's veto to enact SAVE Kansas Act, which will make it more difficult to register to vote, but easier to get purged.

This makes Kansas just the latest state to pass its own version of Trump’s agenda of restricting ballot access and suppressing voter turnout.
GOP lawmakers override governor veto to pass voter suppression SAVE Kansas Act
The SAVE Kansas Act mimics parts of the anti-voting SAVE America Act by burdening the voter registration process and easing voter purging procedures.

NEW: DHS left embedded comments in a PDF outlining its plans to warehouse immigrants, identifying the architects and laying bare the gross extent of its regulatory capture. Great scoop by @regret.bsky.social:

The three journalists who helped ruin Ava Cordero's life when she tried to stop Epstein in 2006 *currently* work at NBC News, New York Magazine, and News Corp Australia. The one at NBC News is covering... Epstein.
If you ever find yourself wondering how things like the Epstein story happened, consider the mid-level newspaper editor who admitted in a public judicial inquiry that he destroyed a woman’s life and drove her to suicide to try and impress Piers Morgan.
