Beshear really has been a light in the darkness on trans issues. He's not perfect, but he's been remarkably consistent on telling other Dems that they need to continue standing up for us. It makes me wonder if he has a trans person in his life.
In response to a slew of anti-trans Democrats pushing hate during the 2026 midterms, Governor Andy Beshear provided principled criticism to the idea that red-state Dems need to adopt anti-trans views to win:

"We Don’t Throw Anybody Under The Bus," he said.

The governor provides a counterpoint to those who believe red state Democrats need to capitulate on transgender rights.

i love how strongly anti-AI young buckaroos are, and the creative community is, and basically anyone who knows anything about it. but dang i wish folks brought that kind of fight to the world of erotica. such a sneaky reveal of how those who CLAIM to care actually dont see erotica as 'real art'

I’m having a really nice day. I need my chill Sundays. I’m sketching and writing and working on my latest illustration contract. It keeps raining and we’re making stew. I feel like I’m a pumpkin

A lot don’t, in my opinion. They fall in love with him, they like having sex with them. But LIKE them? Want to spend time with them? Appreciate the things they like and the way they think and their perspectives? Nope.
Every day I ask myself do men even like women and the answer is just No

A follow up to my earlier piece on religious trauma. I think I've got a third one in mind; they'd make for a neat triptych once they've had some color.

This is what happens when you get loud and demand Dems not drop trans people. We CAN get orgs to realize this.

But we can’t stop with Kaptur. She’s the worst but not the only one.

There is NO acceptable anti-trans vote or statement or ad from a Democrat. None.

GET LOUDER!
The Congressional Equality Caucus has released the following statement in response to our story indicating they will not back candidates who "scapegoat transgender people."

Kaptur does not appear as of this morning on their endorsed list.

Several who took the same vote as her still do, sadly.

When fascists win, centrists get to feel good about themselves because they are kinder and more tolerant than those people. When progressives win, centrists find themselves cruel and narrow minded by comparison, and can't bear that feeling.
This all reminds me of the reactions to DSA wins here. A lot of the centrists are much more comfortable with fascism than with democratic socialism.
The mayoral discourse in Berlin continues to be *utterly* unhinged. If the AfD had topped the polls the narrative would be “finally the people have been heard!” but since the Left won, it’s all “Queer Islamofascists and Woke are trying to conquer us with, er, affordable rents!”
