Question 4 is WILD and unheard of. What in the french fried hell is "such other questions that the Government determines are appropriate for the disposition of the case?"
BREAKING: SCOTUS allows the Trump admin to restart third-country removals under a policy found by lower courts to violate federal law. The Democratic appointees dissent.

The deportations will be OK'ed at least through the next several months, with SCOTUS agreeing to hear the case in December.

oh my god where is THIS movie
Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today.

A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field.

Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission.

The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.
Skydivers alert emergency crews, assist after plane crashes near East Troy airport
Four people were aboard the single-engine plane when it went down in a cornfield near Carvers School Road in East Troy at about 1:30 p.m.

Cindy Hyde-Smith voted against the infrastructure money to fix our water, and now a federal court says Mississippi families have no right to clean water — that our only remedy is to elect better officials.
You don't have a right to safe drinking water, US court rules
A Trump-appointed judge also said Americans have no “constitutional right to truthful information” during a public health crisis.

Objecting to the destruction of USAID is a pretty clean litmus test for being a serious person and not evil

a surprising number of otherwise bad people pass this test, and a shocking number of people who pretend to care do not
So sure, USAID was a tool of US soft power and political influence, and also, I sometimes get the sense that people saying this don’t quite comprehend the torrent of death, horror, and pain that is currently unfolding from the genuinely evil decision to suddenly destroy it.

Food companies wanted deregulation. Now there are dozens of recalls across the country.

Mining companies wanted deregulation. Now the black lung rate is at a 45-year high.

Financial companies wanted deregulation. Now financial losses to fraud are the highest on record.

Noticing a pattern?

I love it when bad legislative drafting leads to a win for the good guys (also, Microsoft joining the war on age verification on the side of the sex workers is a great prospect).
Contrary to the article describing the law, it doesn't specify the exact licenses that qualify, and it doesn't specify that the *entire* OS, as-run, must be open source, so, uh, I think they definitely just exempted Android (Apache and GPL) and possibly exempted MacOS (kernel is FreeBSD)

I was recently involved in a case where another party tired the "gentle reminder" approach, and the Court entered this text order.

Here’s the thing about Y2K, the ozone layer, etc.

The most leftist—in the sense of *valuing labor*—thing you can do is reject the brainwashing that tells you that heroism is running into a burning building and not the slow, patient, boring, unglamorous work of *preventing* disaster.
I think a lot of people would have died without the work of people like you. The power grid could have gone down, air traffic control, supply chains, medical equipment, water infrastructure…

You prevented a disaster. That is heroism. Heroism doesn’t always have to be running into a burning building

You thought qualified immunity was bad....
To give an illustration of just how legally insulated Gardaí are

A woman who was raped by a man who Gardaí had brought to her home

After they suspected he had murdered his wife

Was not allowed to sue the force (leg alone the grossly negligent individual Gardaí)
If we grant broad immunities to Gardaí beyond what they already have

- & despite what you have heard, the law does treat police favourably -

What will people say if Gardaí pursue a vehicle they suspect eg being involved in a burglary

And they end up ploughing into a family?

Cook County alone has over 3,000 voting precincts. I bet at least some of those have multiple polling stations.

This isn’t good—no attack on free elections is—but also important to keep that 1,000 in perspective.

I don’t they could put a real dent in polling places even just in competitive places.
BREAKING: Harmeet Dhillon said in an interview with Bloomberg that the DOJ will be sending 1,000 election monitors to the polls for the midterms.

"[The DOJ] has sent monitors to...increase voter confidence to troubleshoot problems and we are doing that now," she said. https://demdock.com/3T3Owjg
