I remember seeing people be glib about 25-30 minute recharges on road trips and as an anxious driver I just thought: God what a relief it must be to decompress a little before driving more. Someone else's inconvenience, my dream scenario etc.

While it's true that Earth and the Federation are quasi communist it's arrived at in a very liberal way. Basically Earth didn't change because of material conditions per se, just that humanity chose to be better. Trek has always been afraid to really call it socialism anyway.

At least a few ways to limit this stuff, right? Limiting who can reply/quote or whatever. But you rarely see that since everyone wants engagement. I'm not a person of importance or whatever but surely there are ways to mitigate this stuff. Which very much does suck.

It reads more like rage bait from book TikTokkers honestly. Not that there hasn't been a literacy crisis but as far as laying this the feet of fanfiction: I don't think it's true. Most fic, even self insert slop, is third person. I can't speak to book retailers and romance fiction but I'm skeptical.

It really reads as someone who is just very used to hearing about these whacky diets the players try out and needing kinda numb to how it looks. But it's so prevalent in the books! At one point Ilya is eating a lovely cookie with Shane's family and Shane is counting pomegranate seeds! It's wild.

I think it's interesting that Reid, who is clearly knowledgeable about athletic nutrition stuff, doesn't consider Shane to have a disordered relationship with food but basically anyone who isn't into sports instantly thinks it's ED. Sport seems so insular!

This actually happened in Animorphs I think. An ant morphed Cassie. It screamed quite a lot then got trampled by a water buffalo that had also morphed human once. Very weird Cassie book.
