will say it again:

the most effective way to curb far right agitators like Lowe, "Tommo" et. al. would be to stop their ability to earn money for it from social media or live streaming.

So much of it is grifting for revenue, not attention.
Here's Rupert Lowe MP's payments from X Corp over the past year. This man is making serious cash from Musk's platform.

Payments surged over the summer, during UK 'unrest', and when Musk was frantically re-sharing Lowe's posts...

Bleak, lucrative work if you can get it.

I have many thoughts about this story but one is that we are extremely blessed in England to have an education system where schools in poorer areas get more money.

A decade ago, I made a decision about my daughter’s education that I hoped would challenge New York City’s separate and unequal school system. Now 16, she thinks I made the wrong choice.

A lot of Labour people visibly believe that a Labour government gives off tolerance particles, and therefore sitting mute is fine and good. The reality is that it took a cross party, whole society effort to make us, as Sunak says, the most successful multiethnic, multifaith democracy in the world:

I think it should be a source of deep embarrassment – and perhaps even shame – that Rishi Sunak has spoken out on this before Andy Burnham has.
Former PM Rishi Sunak in the Sunday Times challenges the rise of ethno-nationalism in British politics, as an argument within the right about Britishness being about ancestry, DNA and ethnicity

Wow.
Just look at the glee on Nigel Farage’s face as he watches a Piddington resident cry about the overt racism she, her Caribbean heritage husband, and their two children have felt in the village during the referendum.

Time and again he’s showing us exactly who he is.

One more time: Inheritance tax *is not unique or even uncommon* in being "double taxation". The coffee I just bought was paid for with wages on which income tax and NI had been levied, but was also subject to VAT. Just stop it.

At just about every level of society, on a like for like basis the English (with a relatively low life expectancy for Western Europe) comfortably outlive the Americans. Why? The NHS, yes, but also better food and workplace safety standards, a stronger welfare safety net, less reliance on cars etc.

London's homicide rate hit its lowest level since records began.

Yet 40% of the public thought that murders had risen since 2019.

That’s the danger of disinformation. We cannot accept it, and to defeat it, we’ve got to put pressure on the social media companies who profit from it.

This does suggest Britain is
a) very good at integration
b) actively attracts the world's smart and ambitious people who want to get on and do well for themselves

Both of these are very good, competitive qualities to have and should be celebrated.

I think this kind of dehumanising rhetoric is very common from people who consider themselves compassionate - people don’t even notice their own dehumanisation of others.
Heard a BBC vox pop (truly the bottom feeding of broadcast journalism) complain that the RNLI might not be able to get to ‘genuine people’ because they were busy rescuing from small boats. ‘GENUINE PEOPLE’. Imagine being that level of soulless d**k.

It's important to read coverage of what happened in Dover alongside watching footage like this and consider whether the way 'protests' are described accurately depict what took place. This is no ordinary protest.

A degree of politeness too, we tend not to say that Brexit failed because its adherents self-radicalised to a position that bore no resemblance to the country or world, and that therefore inevitably left a mess.
