If I were emperor for a day, one change I'd make:

In every political race, at every level, at least the *first* debate would be replaced by a simple test of knowledge. How do taxes work? What agency is responsible for what? Is your area growing or shrinking in population?

Just basic stuff.

My wife, a prodigious sleep-talker, failed to disclose her affliction when we started dating, which led to the fright of my life the night she sat bolt upright in bed and in a low flat monotone loudly declared that “THIRTEEN BABIES REMAIN UNFATHERED.”

Every day this guy does something like this and every day the same people who dress him up as a terrifying commie destroyer of civilization do a dozen things to sabotage the public good, to murder and destroy and hate and kill, and I can't anymore handle those who won't see the clear difference.
This summer, we kept the lights on all night, every night, at five soccer fields across New York City.

This was the scene at Calvert Vaux Park in Gravesend, Brooklyn Tuesday night.

Seriously: everybody loved the walkable downtown vibe of Seattle during the World Cup. *Everyone.* They wrote articles about it in newspapers around the world! We cemented our reputation as a global city!

And now ... we just have to let all the cars back in? Why?

Compare Alito's description of Trump's racist statements (on the left) to Justice Kagan's anthology of Trump's racist statements (on the right). These are passages from this morning's opinions in Mullin v. Doe.

The thing about the movie Face/Off is there really were a lot of easier solutions to their problems then taking their faces off and switching them, that’s why it rarely happens in the real world

Personally, I think it's important that children be taught about all the early Saddle Creek bands. Not just Cursive, but Bright Eyes, The Faint, Rilo Kiley, and even The Good Life. Hear hear!
Letting our kids be kids also means getting back to the basics. That’s why, earlier this year, I signed into law a bipartisan bill that requires cursive handwriting to be taught in Pennsylvania schools.

Trump: "I took my physical. I got all As. Everything. But they said to me, 'would you like to take a cognitive test?' I said, 'Is it hard?' They said, 'yes.' I said, 'Well, I'm a very smart person. Who was the last president to take one?' 'No president has ever agreed to take one' ... I aced it."

Mamdani going in there calling Trump sir a couple times and singing the 1-800-588-EMPIRE jingle with him and effortlessly turning him into a committed socialist.
it's so funny to watch the far right White House press pool try to bait Trump to say something nasty about Mamdani and every time he's just like "nah this guy rocks"
