My daughter bought me a book of @themountaingoats.bsky.social lyrics for Christmas. It inspired this poem — which could also be titled Going to Pierpont. (Not that anyone would know where that is.)

Agreed that not everyone who disagrees with me is filled with hate in their heart but the high cost of a college education sounds like a problem chasing trans kids out of public life isn't going to solve
Gluesenkamp Perez: "At town halls, what I saw was the people who were the most upset had spent the last 12 years driving their girls to sports practice & they view their best shot of their student going to college as an athletic scholarship. So when we rush to moralize we miss some of the nuance."

I assimilated all the way to Congress and this idiot still tells me to go back where I came from.
Tom Emmer: "Minnesotans are so afraid that you're gonna call us a racist, you're gonna call us an Islamophobe. You know what? I'm done being even the least bit careful. Somalis don't assimilate. And if they don't assimilate, then they should go the hell back to where they came from."

If you are wealthy, I think you should spend more money on clothes. There's no pride in buying clothes for the lowest possible price, as this puts downward pressure on garment worker wages and increases the likelihood of exploitation.

Nobody believed Trump and Vance that Iran was going to spend this money on US farm products. That was a line to assuage the cultists who were told by their hero for a decade that providing billions to Iran was weak and evil.

The Intel chair hasn’t read the treaty. If he had, he’d know there’s only been one time NATO was required to help the U.S. and that was after 9/11. And they did.
Intelligence Chair Crawford: "It's in our interest to revisit the construct of NATO and say, 'How does this work for us?' Because when we need help from NATO, by and large they aren't there. Whereas when they need our help, we're there to do the heavy lifting, and I think POTUS has recognized that."

We've reached the point where one party has so obliterated the rule of law that everyone else continuing to abide by it will only hasten the end of our democracy.

That's a recipe for chaos and violence. It's terrifying, and I don't know what we do about it.

I guess it's possible fetterman doesn't understand this, but Trump breaks promises all the time.
FWIW, in context, this reads like an offer from a party leader to ensure campaign funds to a potential candidate, not an offer of a personal bribe.
Trump asked Sean Hannity to serve as his intermediary in getting John Fetterman to switch parties, according to Politico.

Hannity then conveyed Trump's offer of "more money than he ever dreamed of" to Fetterman the next day on his podcast.

RFK Jr. told the House E&C Committee today that the way to bring down healthcare costs is to "clean up the risk pool" — remove the people who cost too much. He said the $4.3 trillion we spend on chronic disease is the emergency. He said most of Minnesota's autism services funding was stolen. 🧵
