🚴‍♂️ The N625 now has a 4m-wide bi-directional cycle path—a huge upgrade from the old narrow tracks. Read my blog post and watch the video to see the transformation! 🌿🎥
Major Upgrade for Cycling Infrastructure Along the N625 in Noord-Brabant
The province of Noord-Brabant, in collaboration with the municipality of Oss, has reconstructed the cycling infrastructure along the provincial road N625. Instead of two narrow, one-way cycle paths on either side of the road, there is now a two-way cycle path on the southwest side. This new four-metre-wide cycle path was opened in September 2024.

Read the stories of the Gappergennies who terrorised the locals of Ashmore back in the 1800s with their haunting of a round barrow, near to the lonely and dark Washer's Pit. Who is the white lady? The same one rescued from being hung over the dew pond? 👻

The Gappergennies of the Barrow and the Legend of Washer's Pit - Weird Wiltshire
‘Gappergennies?’ You say, ‘Whatever are they?’ That’s exactly what I was thinking when I first came across this little-known folklorish tale from the somewhat rural area of Ashmore. Now, I know Ashmor...

Important message here. Whether you never borrow a book or only borrow rarely, it all helps. Salisbury Library is a amazing resource and needs support.

“The lesson from the Netherlands isn’t just about bike lanes or trains; it’s about ambition.

It’s about designing cities for people, not just cars.

It’s about leaders stepping up, citizens demanding more and breaking out of the status quo to embrace something better.”

Good morning!
This is how my commute in Utrecht (NL) starts in December: from the world’s largest bicycle parking garage into the darkness of the morning rush hour, where most people I see are riding a bicycle.

Sadly it's the same at many events. I found at one that the batteries can't be replaced in most of the toys too. It's such a waste.
Every year at the lights switch on is the same - pointless plastic tat stalls, and a load of noisy diesel generators. Two elements that if it were up to me, would disappear. I wonder what percentage of this rubbish promptly ends up in landfill?
