Dad mostly. Sometimes I code React. Been writing JS since BBEdit and alert statements…
Not sure how the original saying got started, but I would think that really any part of a creek is a bad place to be without a paddle.

Can’t believe I haven’t seen anyone say this yet, but in regards to the reflecting pool, is Trump finally fulfilling a campaign promise to “Drain the swamp”?

Accidentally tossed the straw from the coffee I picked up this morning. So I’m now at work, drinking my giant iced latte with a novelty Slurpee mustache straw I found in a desk drawer, like the professional that I am.

It used to be setting up redux boilerplate but not since the toolkit came out. :-)
Watched some interior painters at work in my building today. I feel like 95% of the work of painting is applying masking tape.

What’s the dev equivalent? Unit tests?

So glad this Olympic skating theme is 90’s music because those songs hadn’t tortured me enough in my lifetime.

Apple really needs to add a delay feature to their sports app. It’d be dead simple for them to do and everyone could enjoy not knowing a touchdown is coming 30 seconds before it happens because of tv delays. Or a home run etc. Just a delay the user can choose for a certain amount of time. Not hard.

relay.upcloud.world is up for now, maybe it’ll need some scale tweaks if we do a large backfill but otherwise hey lewis delivered 👍👍

Redux is fantastic and just gotten better and simpler. It’s made debugging production issues so much easier. No more trying to repro, we have periodic snapshots of state and just play msgs back. Sometimes we even reuse those snapshots for tests so we never see those production issues again. Easy…
All that to say:

Redux ain't going away any time soon :)

and we're still very actively maintaining it and working on it to keep it up to date and addressing user requests.

Right now I'm working to improve Immer perf and keeping a close eye on React's upcoming "concurrent stores" API.

vibe coding is too manual. the new hotness is aura coding, where you just dress like a software developer but don't actually do anything

Kitchen recycling bins are like a domestic reverse jenga game. Everyone keeps trying to squeeze in one more can or carton until it finally doesn’t fit. And that loser has to take the bag outside.

Redux toolkit has pretty much nailed all the pain points I’ve previously had with redux, which I still use a ton and love, but wasn’t able to upgrade to rtk yet. Started redoing a very old app with it and it has so much clarity and way less boilerplate. Thank you @acemarke.dev, @phry.dev and all...

Slowly redoing 18yr old vanillaJs app that had custom gui framework (as none existed, even jquery was new) into React, TS, and RTK. Will be interesting to compare app sizes and general amount of code when done. And yes, it’s been running in prod this entire time with very minimal changes since then…
