Wrote a whole complicated tab column writer thing then realized most of what I needed was just already implement as functions to do type defining.

Oh boy the core kubernetes apis don’t export printer column tables cleanly so the rust kube crate doesn’t have them available programmatically. Guess I gotta write em myself. I guess I could fix them on the kube side, maybe later.

Hot take but I would prefer it if politicians would answer the question about whether they think trans rights are worth fighting for instead of dodging the question.

Day 2 of rewriting kubectl in rust to try and learn rust. Nothing has changed output wise but I have reorganized everything into crates, which is a bigger win than expected. Maybe on day 3 I’ll add the kube-rs crates and use those instead of doing everything manually.

I got paid to play a completely learned by ear rendition of Fireflies by Owl City at Johnson Space Center one time. I don’t remember what for some event, I was just the only bass player anyone knew. This is a perhaps unsurprisingly common way of finding gigs as a bass player.
Happy labor day (USA). What's one of the oddest paid job you've had? Mine was probably as a reader for a medical professor at Rutgers, whose eyes were failing. I read him many academic texts, as well as Samuel Butler's "The Way of All Flesh."

I’m kind of pissed at how good Krusteaz boxed mixes are. At this point why even bother baking from scratch. At least this means I can have coffee cake on a regular basis without having to leave my house in the morning.

Downloading random files from the Internet, putting them specific places on storage (local or networked), unpacking the archives, streaming their contents, dealing with the security nightmare inherent in the above. Honestly how is kubernetes different than an automated torrenting stack.
