3 weeks ago our friends adopted a puppy from AAWL. They named her Bella and she's the sweetest thing. One week ago yesterday we were at their house and my friend, unhelpfully, goes "they still have her brother!".

Cover of A Wish in the Dark by Christina Soontornvat. A beautiful book about social justice, growing up, and figuring out that some things aren't right just because they are law. Cover of An Accident of Stars by Foz Meadows. Beautiful story about righting wrongs. The characters and relationships are incredibly complex and I love them all. I don't know how to properly review a book, but I'm on my second read of this one. A kids book, I suppose, but I love this story. A little slave girl and a dragon finally find freedom and go on a long journey. She has much to learn about the world and her place in it, and much to unlearn.

I'm going to a chiropractor for the first time today. Wish me luck. I'm a bit nervous about it. But my back is not ok. I don't know what's wrong with it, but it's not right. 🤔 Also my shoulders. And my neck.

We went camping last week, and we saw so many bees! Bees on flowers, bees on hands! I adore bees. This one even did me a favor and sat still for my camera. They don't often do that.

A cute and fuzzy little bee is sitting on a purple/pink thistle flower. It's my hand! And there is a bee crawling on it. They are very curious little creatures. I had a few land on me over the course of the week and none stung me.

Update: it ended really well! It set up nicely for the next book, without leaving me hanging with a cliffhanger. I'm looking forward to reading the second book when it comes out next year, but won't be on pins and needles until then, and I love that. ❤️

Who goes there?! I don't know, but we definitely had a great time keeping an eye for animal tracks while walking in the woods a few months ago. Our guess was a raccoon, but if you can tell me for sure I'd appreciate it.

A couple of months ago we took a weekend trip up to Pinetop for our daughter's birthday and it was BEAUTIFUL! We went walking in the woods every day and it was amazing. Living in Phoenix we don't really ever see snow, so that was a bonus.
