Clearly we need to completely stop rewarding “being the first to solve a problem” (this rush is completely idiotic) and transition to “write exposition in a clear and elegant way”. The question is now how to incentivize this!

I’m starting to wonder if we can just all agree somehow that math produced mostly or entirely by LLMs, even if technically correct, is just not an accepted part of the human community of mathematics. Make it de jure that AI simply cannot scoop a human mathematician. It should be a category error.
This is not where I expected TCS to be in 2026! The last line in the abstract is distressing. :( Is this how we need to work when we get a big result? As if someone is always chasing us?

I do not like this model's casual tone and familiarity. I'd prefer outputs as bullet points rather than narrative. The efforts to make the model's outputs seem like natural dialog encourages anthropomorphizing and leads naive/desperate young men to believe an algorithm is their girlfriend

My thoughts on existential risk:
* Humanity isn't going to be wiped out any time soon.
* Negligible chance that AI by itself causes catastrophic damage to humanity (millions dead).
* Some nontrivial chance that human beings will leverage AI to help them do something catastrophically harmful.

More later. But, I don't want mathematicians out there dooming and glooming about their profession. Chess didn't die because of DB or Stockfish or AlphaZero. The math profession isn't going to die either. We need to keep a clear separation between answer-getting and learning
