This is a dark day for the environmental movement.
In one of most regressive moves I've seen by this Government, they are effectively shutting down the majority of environmental public interest litigation.
Over 1400 people told them not to do this. Did they listen? Of course not.

This is a dark day for the environmental movement.

*SO* thrilled yesterday to see the first screening of An Irish Atlantic Rainforest, the film about my 17-year journey rewilding a West Cork farm.

What's the definition of 'public interest'? Is it leaving just the deep pocketed corporate players on the field, who make enough profit to pay their lawyers hundreds of thousands to defend their own economic interest, further stacking the deck against the environment in favour of corporate profit?

Over the 19 years Ireland has had a derogation from the nitrates directive we have backed ourselves in to a corner. Which now leaves us having productive and economically viable farms or cleaner rivers and lakes, but not both.
