I learned about this while working at an arts theater in VT. Come From Away is a musical about it. Lots of Canadians came to the show, many of them wore goose pins on their lapels. I asked about them and they explained about the town called Gander. Remarkable story of kindness & generosity.
On 9/11, the people of Gander stepped up. They showed the very best of Canada.

Despite all the furious efforts of the right to reverse things, I think Gloria Steinem and her colleagues won the fight, and so we get to live our lives in a world where far more people count.

An epic organizer, and a guide for us all in the current struggle.

In his Second Discourse, Rousseau talks about how man was born free and able to live off the bountiful food that surrounded him in nature and then he was plucked from this state and introduced to society, where he was forced to labor.

It's honestly so crazy to me that we're facing a technological revolution that could displace millions of jobs in the middle of a housing affordability crisis and every day we talk about whether a trans woman is playing sports or if someone has a non-Anglo name.

Not an item in particular, but IMO, to qualify, it must not open smoothly. On first pull, either a pair of scissors or a package of batteries or the knot of rubber bands has to get in the way, and you need to shove your hand in there and push it down before you can open it. That's a junk drawer.

Super useful. I figure a lot of us here in the Sky know this stuff already, but it might be handy to hand to parents, grandparents and pals who are less technically minded.

Magical video by Mike Nulty (@nuttynulty on IG) of a whale shark (Rhincodon typus) off the coast of Baja, swimming through reflective plankton or debris that look like stars.

Space whale-shark! 🦈✨

Let's talk about /actual/ glowing sharks, the lantern sharks of family Etmopteridae.
