Just a reminder, too-oft overlooked & a vital component most certainly missing when modern Muppet content is conceptualized, is that these characters could go to deeply sincere, beautifully emotional places... And were allowed to do so. If you ignore the heart - You don’t get it.

I haven’t been this happy since my daughter was born a year ago…and even that was somewhat muted because she provided no entertainment value for the first several months.

I had two 5-year-olds chasing me at a kids’ birthday yesterday, and I threw on the brakes, gave them a little juke, and then hit the gas, and they collided with each other where they thought I was going to be and went down in a crying heap. Absolutely cooked their asses. One of the kids was mine.

say it again:

4 million people work in higher ed, the largest employer in 10 states, second largest employer in 10 more, and in 60 of the 100 biggest cities

ROI for NIH and NSF for local economies is conservatively 4x, often close to 10x

demolishing higher education is economic sabotage
There is a false dichotomy drawn between "the ivory tower" and "the real world," and I'm here to report that in a post-industrial society, your real-world economy absolutely hinges on the university.

University towns are factory towns. Universities drive economic activity, not the other way around.
