The reckless speed, driven by get rich quick money and the egos of these characters, is creating so many global negative effects, that will outweigh the benefits for decades.
We need a slower, collaborative advance but the #US doesn't do teamwork. They've created yet another artificial arms race.

I joined @greenparty.org.uk to help push environmental policy and green economics up the political agenda. As the #greens turn increasingly to performative policies, its no wonder that other parties are finding political space to back away from the #climate agenda and green policies

but this has to be an honest debate. If @uklabour and @conservatives both approach it from the point of view of not wishing to compromise their voter bases then its a waste of time.
This requires a national conversation and for all parties to put political capital into finding solutions to make this work.

30 years of programming and I have never cared about the machine. I’m interested in the problems to solve, the system to architect, and the end product that people can use.
The machines are just a necessary evil and, frankly, too much of programming is intolerable drudgery.

I just priced up some tulipwood hardwood boards for furniture for the kids. OMG the price. I need PAR as don’t have a planer/thicknesser. If I had the tools to make my own veneers, I’d do that but no can do. Need to think on this. #woodworking #hardwood

Finished my first project for a while. A simple wine rack and side table made from pine boards from the local #DIY store. Happy with the item but I need a different filler for the next project as this ‘stainable’ filler has a poor colour match. #woodworking #winerack
