Anthropic is saying that AI models could pose catastrophic or existential risks to humanity.

At the same time, Anthropic is planning the largest IPO in history, which would accelerate the development of this technology while leaving Americans holding the bag if the AI bubble bursts.

Anthropic is thus bidding for a major share of imperial power. And as far as I can tell they are on track to get it - there were some hiccups along the way but even the Trump administration “now trusts Anthropic”.'

selling the IOUs that anthropic has given various companies isn't a good sign, it means that those companies think the IOUs likely won't be repaid and so they're selling them to at least recoup SOMETHING before they're worthless.
I mean, why sell IOUs if they're good? especially from anthropic?

I’m sick of headlines treating these forays as something done independently.

No. Anthropic created it. Anthropic did this. And they should be held to account, not some supposedly autonomous AI

Anthropic stole "at least 10 Stanford academics' work"???? I usually admire the work the Stanford Daily does, but this framing is wild! There are 34 professors in my department (DLCL) -- of them AT LEAST 17 had their work stolen by Anthropic!!!

Anthropic stole Georgia voter data. It's CEO should be prosecuted

How the company Anthropic stole Georgia Voter data was through AI software THEY coded, Claude.

Anthropic & the other AI Chatbot programs should all be shut down & their CEOs investigated, prosecuted & imprisoned for theft & harm
