Nunney Castle sits in the centre of the village of Nunney near Frome. It was constructed in 1373 by a knight called Sir John De La Mare under royal licence.
Now owned by English Heritage.

Been sorting my bedroom recently and found this!
A face screen. These became popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. They were used to protect a lady from blushing or their make up from running when sat near a fire. Now on display in my museum.

May 7th 1915 at 2:10pm. U-Boat U20 torpedoed RMS Lusitania on her starboard side. Just 18 minutes after the attack she foundered 11 miles of the coast of Ireland. 1,198 souls were lost.

The capstan in Sennan Cove, Cornwall. Built in the mid-1800s to protect the large capstan that was used to haul ships up the slipway. The upper floor was used to store nets and ropes. Some of the winches survive to this day (middle photo). It’s now an art gallery.
