Through the 10 episodes sent to critics, CBS' "Cupertino" probably isn't as good as "Evil" through the same point and it's probably better than "Elsbeth" through the same point, but it's a general reminder that The Kings give good procedural.

You guys, we are two weeks away from the return of The Lowdown, just an incredible, delightful television program. I wrote earlier this year about why you should sample it if you haven't already:

"I learned it by watching you" is a far more sophisticated/knowing joke format and I'm sure I use it more frequently, but in terms of pure "famousness," the answer is "This is your brain on drugs" and it isn't even close...
Hive mind, settle a Gen X debate for me. What's more famous:

"I learned it by watching you"

OR

"This is your brain on drugs"

And if you need more context then you aren't allowed to answer.

When I was at Rolling Stone, I was in frequent contact with Peacock PR about being on the set for the movie, which for a few minutes there was "definitely" happening summer of '23. Then it didn't.

It's a miracle that Party Down s3 got made. It's so hard bringing people back together. Plus strikes.
Four years ago today, on Sept. 30, 2022, Peacock greenlit the #Community movie.

Joel McHale's Fox comedy #AnimalControl premiered five months later.

Season 5 started this week — and somehow, Animal Control seems more likely to fulfill the #SixSeasonsAndAMovie prophecy first.

Make it make sense.

“Brothers” is mainly vexing because it’s a bad star vehicle, which is ~insane~ since it only exists because the two stars decided to make a show about themselves.

But just because actors play good characters doesn’t mean actors *are* good characters. www.indiewire.com/criticism/sh...

Just once, I would like the Netflix audience to completely reject something clearly awful yet over-promoted.

"Wonka's The Golden Ticket" would be a great show for that rejection.

But nobody has ever lost money underestimating the taste of the Netflix subscriber-base.

Booooooooooo
The last season, with that cast, should be so much fun. Wish that Charles was training someone who would take over for him, so they’d have more seasons this creative team could produce.

I will say that I liked s1 a lot more than s2, so it's possible that it's such a high-concept premise is hard to sustain for very long. But I liked so many of these characters, and it's yet another reminder that the days of Schur making shows with 100+ episodes feel like from pilgrim times.

A nice thing: Vince Gilligan won his first Emmy for writing last night because BREAKING BAD's sole writing Emmy was for "Ozymandius," which he surely had a huge hand in shaping but is solely credited to Moira Walley-Beckett.

Matthew Weiner would never. DID never, in fact.

It was, as I said in my review (www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-review...) a thoroughly bland episode. The episode gave CBS *nothing* to promote, which is also Bari Weiss' fault, but it's Bari Weiss' fault in a way that's different from what the drop is being attributed to.
The "60 Minutes" premiere was down 21% from last year's debut … and its lead-in NFL game was down 22% year to year. The overhaul of "60 Minutes" was craven and dumb, but the smaller lead-in was probably the main cause of (this week's) ratings hit.
TV Ratings: ‘60 Minutes’ Premiere Drops With Smaller NFL Lead-In
The Sept. 13 episode was the first after CBS News chief Bari Weiss made a host of changes to the show.
