Just learned from La Presse that I would be called a "adepte poitrinien"! #AdP I like the sound of it!

A stunning #Roman amber flask, found in Aquileia, dating 1st/2nd c. AD.
Aquileia's position at the end of a main amber trade route resulted in its becoming a centre for the carving and distribution of Baltic amber across the Roman Empire.

Bad eyes and stubby fingers, nothing beats a keyboard and a large monitor!
I know I’m “old” because almost every task still feels more natural on a computer than a smartphone. Especially writing.

I would buy this glass if I saw it in a shop...!🤩
WOW! This late Roman blue glass cup made an epic 12,000 km journey!

Made in the eastern Mediterranean, it was excavated from the Cheonmachong Tomb, a royal tomb of the ancient Silla Kingdom in Korea! 🤯

If you miss The Pitt, might I suggest Krank Berlin (or Berlin ER) on Apple TV+ as a grittier European hospital drama? It's doing a great of filling "the Pitt" sized void (or pit) in my viewing habits. Season 1 so far has great acting, tight scripts. (Not for the faint of heart tho.)

Public Transit and Dr.'s Waiting Rooms.
A circle of hell where a narrator voices everything they do in a booming voice. For eternity.
Dante needs to add a circle of hell for people on public transit who watch videos with the volume all the way up

Ok, after months of procrastination, I decided to retry the meringue recipe. Separated yolk from egg perfectly for two eggs and then botched the third egg, and resigned. Such heartbreak and waste of egg!

‪🇨🇦 I wish more people knew that Mark Carney, the new Prime Minister of Canada, after being senior associate deputy minister in the Department of Finance under a conservative Prime Minister, was Governor of the Bank of England, dealing with Brexit and Boris Johnson.

He knew some roll 'n roll times.

In light of rising egg prices in the United States, earlier self-deprecating posts about my meringue failure egg wastage feel callous and insensitive. 😐

What a world we live in!

Pandemics do not begin with official announcements.

They start with quiet deletions, missing reports, and assurances that there is "no cause for concern."

Pay attention.

The thing that really bugs me about WaPo losing the "Democracy dies in darkness" slogan was that it was so good!

It's up there with "In space no one can hear you scream," or "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water" taglines.

How could you give that up? SMH.

Comme si les choses n'étaient pas assez claires, le Washington Post de Jeff Bezos se débarrasse du slogan "Democracy in darkness".

Nouveau slogan: "Riveting storytelling for all of America".

Ça frappe fort ça, mes amis.
