Tried to find a game my Dad would be into - we were both enthusiasts of kitset models as kids, and chose WoG as I really liked the XWing game mechanics. We had our first games in the weekend, getting used to how the kites move around the table. Plans have been made to try all the BoB scenarios.

I started a substack dedicated to my passion for #Warhammer 5th Edition #Herohammer! My first post is about why I like it.
Why Warhammer 5th Edition?
An attempt to understand why Warhammer, and the Hero-Hammer era in particular, has never quite let go of me.

Just finished day 1 of a Warhammer Fantasy 5th edition tournament here in New Zealand - bringing the Vampire Counts and have come out with 3 wins against Beastmen. Dwarves and High Elves. Tomorrow sees me facing a Night Goblin Horde. I really love this edition, especially the magic system.

I miss Campaing Packs so much: they sold the idea that scenery mattered. Buildings weren’t decoration – they were objectives, stories, and excuses to fight again next week.

College Magic spell cards are printed! They came out pretty good and look great alongside the other cards in the WFB 5th ed Magic set.

Sometimes you find the right book at the right time. Lost my old dog a few months back. Started reading the first hard-copy book I've had time and space to read since having kids and starting a new career; Fairy Tale by @stephenking.bsky.social. Old Radar is filling a gap I didn't know was there.

Interested to hear what everyone's niche #Warhammer hobby enthusiasms are! For me, I spend most of my internal world in WFB 5th Edition #Herohammer but with the 4th edition army books. I love the rules changes between 4th and 5th but also love the older metal models and Undead Army Book.

Had an absolute blast playing through the first scenario from the Circle of Blood from WFB 5th Edition with my boy! We are prepping for Idol of Gork but realised we had these armies ready to go now. The Undead were very nicely routing the poor defenders, but his Necromancer's unit was vulnerable...

How I'm choosing to sell the new TOR supplement to my play group:
Really excited with my boy starting to play WFB 5th ed with me. He really likes Orcs a Goblins, so I thought we should do this the right way. As a result I tracked down an unused copy of Idol of Gork... looking forward to sharing this project as it develops!

My package arrived today! I've got 5 players ready to go... just a house move to go and then we get to visit Middle Earth. Such a cool ruleset and intruiguing way they've structured the adventures.

Is this a sneaky 'Rings of Power' reference in The One Ring RPG? Hilarious!
For contect this is info from a room in Ost Breniellin in Forlindon - inhabited by the descendents of the Fëanoreans. If they're referring to Celebrimbor as the 'visiting Elf from Eregion..' that's some shade right there.

Spent my two-scoreth birthday at the best place I could think of, trying to channel Professor Tolkien. A beautiful day with some cool people. Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo!

Thought I'd share some of the AoS Christmas cracker jokes here for my annual Jingle Realms event. Each had a terrible joke, and a Christmas rule to twist the game a little bit.

The best thing about HeroQuest is... the boss fights! I made a big order from Minis3D for all the special models. Plus a neoprene board with slightly bigger squares to prevent wear and tear and overcrowding. I play this with my kids and my students at school, so these are solid investments!

My favourite #AgeOfSigmar army - The Ossiarch Bonereapers. I have collected a full Ossiarch Cohort from back when Warscoll Battalions were a thing.
