Today's Unlabeled puzzle has a theme: each chart is inspired by a piece from Uncharted Territories, an outstanding Substack newsletter by @tomaspueyo.bsky.social.

Place each missing label, and once the puzzle is solved each chart will link to the Uncharted Territories piece that inspired it!

75% of players picked "High jump record" for a chart that was really the pole vault record. I wrote up how one decoy label drove the difficulty of an Unlabeled puzzle.

Unlabeled puzzle design: good decoys are all you need
Three in four players put the same wrong label on one chart. A look at the decoy behind it, and what it taught me about making puzzles hard but fair.

The birthday problem showed up in an early Unlabeled puzzle. Only takes 23 people for > 50% chance of a shared birthday.

I've been working on a daily graph puzzle, each has 4 charts built using real data. Can you name the axes?

Hi Bluesky! 👋 A few weeks ago I launched a daily chart puzzle called Unlabeled. Players get four charts per day, each backed by real data. The chart labels are removed, and the puzzle is to place them correctly in four tries or fewer.

Try it out and let me know how it goes!
