Someone just called me to survey about "the state of Wyoming" and first question was "are you a member of the news media, or involved in a local political campaign?" and I said "Yes, both," and the guy said "Thank you" and hung up.

This is dangerous to state without being more specific. My government is run by my neighbors and regardless of party they are sick of this nonsense too. Elections deniers are racists and bigots. But my local county elections office really wants 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 to be able to vote, and I do not doubt this.

"I'm running for office because I can" is not a great platform but it's my main one. I can run now, I have a party behind me.
My county party went dark because we didn't have the capacity to run people for office. Since that's the point of a political party, we were irrelevant.

I've always said that the DNC is the road that the cars—our state parties—drive upon.
Without roads, cars can't get anywhere.
That's why having permanent infrastructure to support state parties is so important. It allows candidates to do more with the money that they raise.
