#USWNT U-17 head coach Ciara Crinion has named her World Cup roster, which features one professional, Meila Brewer of USL Super League's Dallas Trinity. (USWNT had 4 pros at last U-17 WC for the first time.)

US will play Samoa, Kenya, China in group play. US has never won a U-17 World Cup.

Aminata Seck, a women's basketball player at Kentucky State (and an All-SIAC selection), was detained by ICE at the Louisville Airport more than a month ago.

She's dealing with an ACL injury and has been transferred to at least four different facilities.

SOURCES: The #NWSL has implemented a new player development rule (PDR) allowing teams to ID youth players and shape their development. If the player eventually signs in #NWSL, that team gets significant salary cap relief through their 23rd birthday. Signings could start in 2028.

Love this article. Talked to one of my friends who played on the Sol, and she says it all checks out. They treated players extremely well and embraced LGBTQ fans (neither were standard at the time), and then folded abruptly, which was sad and made us all worry about the stability of the league.

Brazil wins the penalty shootout 5-4, and the United States is eliminated from the U-20 Women's World Cup in the round of 16. The #USWNT last won a U-20 World Cup in 2012. To their credit today, after group-stage struggles, they were the better team and showed a new fight, but they're headed home.
