Steve X-Men Comics
@xmencomicssteve.bsky.social
Boxes and boxes of X-Men and X-adjacent comics. Collecting since 1986, chasing all the X-books - getting close to the finish line. Favs are both Wolverines, Storm, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde. Also weird 80’s indie comics. Also cooking/recipe shares.
Nice, look great! Lion’s mane are on my list to one day cook with. And doubly cool that they were foraged.

Now we’re cooking with gas! Such a wild, weird early rogue’s gallery, and I love it. Hoping for a number of callbacks when the X-MCU launches, especially in the series.

Wnere I hear they sous vide their tea. Except in Starbucks, for obvious reasons, where it is poached.

I do the same, but only learned to do it a few years ago. Still kinda mad at my parents for not doing it and teaching me the essentials.

Putting a bit in fried rice is magic. And frying an egg!

Glob Herman’s first cover! *

Ok fine, it’s a big group shot but it’s their first cover! In (adjectiveless) X-Men #126 (2002) #GlobHerman #XMen

* I’m pretty sure this is true, didn’t check all X-titles. #119 has a wide shot with lots of characters but my old eyes didn’t spot Glob

I like how you think! And now you’ve got me thinking about getting dried bacon in my Everything.

Mix it myself and learned the hard way that you need to use raw (not toasted) sesame seeds if you’re putting it on a bagel and baking it. So now, two versions:

And here’s the excellent (not my) recipe I use

Bagels are more straightforward than I thought they’d be, really just an extra step boiling the formed dough before baking

A few weeks ago I got my first t-shirt with Lockheed on it, also as a little guy, on Capt. Kate’s shoulder! Had to get a Marauders shirt.

They’ve both been very active, especially in retirement. Lots of travel, making friends, volunteer work. My mom was delivering Meals On Wheels until her mid-80’s. Still live on their own, love to cook.

Thanks Jason! It’s def lottery level stuff, esp as my Mom’s 91.

Do realize there are hundreds/thousands of 95th bday cards online, but couldn’t pass up the double joke.

And fwiw I think stores should carry cards specifically for each year after 90, even if they don’t move stock.

What’s your null hypothesis?

Sorry, my fingers just started typing that and now it’s too late to stop them.

I do love that it looks like a D&D monster you’d run into playing the 80’s Dungeon! board game.

Never the wrong choice if that’s what you get - looks so good, enjoy!

Pure Lockheed joy, that’s so fun to see!

I’ve done the hard clay version of that, it’s brutal. Hope you get a Rain Delay!
