I don't know why I look to see if the world's gotten better.
It's shit, it's been shit, and it will always be shit.
So, I might as well make the best of it and post about stuff I actually care about. Who knows, maybe someone will like it.
I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, so my reactions is welp

The internet is wild, where you can watch a phrase be coined for one specific use, get co-opted by the mainstream, and turned into meaning the opposite of what it was trying to be in the first place. I don't know if there's a name for it beyond the euphemism treadmill, but it happens so much.

I enjoy reading, but 1) I’m kinda slow 2) it takes awhile for me to concentrate on it 3) I’ve read before bed so much that I think I’ve trained my body to start feeling sleepy after reading.

So whenever I have to read for work now I just start getting more and more sleepy and that is not helpful.

As someone who was so worried that Primetime was gonna be bad I'm so happy to have been proven wrong. One of my favorites of the year.

Unfortunately a “gotcha” has become synonymous with legitimate criticism because at best it puts someone on a their heels momentarily. Debate bros have made engagement a contest of seeming victorious in an argument instead of a dialogue.

automating social behavior is deeply stupid and bound to fail. why do they think people started saying sewer slide? it wasn't just to make me want to kermit it every time i hear it.
philosophically i wonder if this applies to fictional people or already-dead people. can i wish death on hitler? bc i think its good that he shot himself in abject terror.
Yeah. The Bluesky app has a zero tolerance policy towards wishing death on people.

Been here since the animatic back in 2025. Loved it.
Also I hope you have more Danganronpa VA's on this show because I would go so fucking crazy over it!

Two amazing people died back to back?! Man, life just likes to fuck with ya just cause. I wish Dolly and Tim the best up there, and maybe we can carry on their legacy by doing the same thing that they did: care for others.

It seems that news of Dolly Parton’s death has resulted in a flood of joyous stories and clips and photos of her.

For a brief moment, she has managed to erase the toxicity of social media. A parting gift, if ever there was one.

I encourage you to give Coat of Many Colors a listen. It really does showcase who Dolly Parton was as a person the best, and it's a perfect representation of what she stood for.

Maybe if I include that I'm autistic people won't treat me like shit (or as least as much as they used to). We'll see.

Just three days into August, this is already the most challenging, devastating fire season our state has experienced in years. Our hearts are with the people all over our state who have had their lives turned upside-down by these disastrous wildfires.

Thou shalt not commit logical fallacies
A logical fallacy is a flaw in reasoning. Logical fallacies are like tricks or illusions of thought, and they're often very sneakily used by politicians and the media to fool people. Don't be fooled! ...

I now fervently believe this. Relatedly, I think celebrating good news and embracing joy are equally radical. You have to remember what you’re fighting for. We cannot sustainably organize around sorrow.
I’m coming to understand that maintaining hope is radical.

The perfect company is one that produces nothing, receives money, and only has one employee (the CEO).

Any time you question why a company would do something seemingly insane, just remember that they are trying to create the impossible, a perfect company, and that should help explain it.

Saying we should all go back to physical media I think misses the point. I actually *like* buying games and movies digitally for a bunch of reasons. What we need is better consumer protections so the things we do buy digitally are actually owned and companies cant delete/revoke access!
