The internet is wild, where you can watch a phrase be coined for one specific use, get co-opted by the mainstream, and turned into meaning the opposite of what it was trying to be in the first place. I don't know if there's a name for it beyond the euphemism treadmill, but it happens so much.

I mean one of the music artists that I listened to due to a game that I played was exposed for being a Nazi, and as much as his music was great, I feel like I'm better off listening to someone else who can make great music and not be that.

Unfortunately a “gotcha” has become synonymous with legitimate criticism because at best it puts someone on a their heels momentarily. Debate bros have made engagement a contest of seeming victorious in an argument instead of a dialogue.

Maybe we should stop treating politics like a game. The only ones winning are the narcissists in power and the ones losing are us.

Maybe it would also be easier for people to support these people if they actually promoted their positions that they stood for instead of trying to follow their party because "this group x will cost us the election if we support them!"

I have a twitter as well because I wanted to stay in touch with a game community I'm with and every day I feel about nuking it. It happens with Bluesky once in a while too.
Don't feel bad. Humans crave connection, but I think going outside and talking to people is better than social media.

I think there was a recent video talking about the joys of local play, and I just remember playing Wii Sports all the time with my twin brother when I was younger.
