The promise of Israel is somewhere that Jews can be safe, no matter what else happens in the world. The mobs and death threats against the filmakers and their families suggest that, under Netanyahu, this only applies to Jews who support the government and armed forces.

The documentary NAZA (collateral damage) is not yet on screens near me. I understand it deals with AI and targeting. I wrote this piece in 2023, first academic article (to my knowledge) mentioning and discussing its use by the IDF. brill.com/view/journal...

The same act also instituted new crackdowns against "new age travellers" (and other nomadic folk) and political protestors and generally set the tone for further repression that has followed (including the designation of peaceful protestors for Palestine as terrorists).
