National Rally leader Marine Le Pen and party president Jordan Bardella condemned what they called Russia's "hostile" actions, saying Moscow could not dictate France's policies through intimidation.

A French military source told Le Monde that France is already carrying out undisclosed conventional military responses to Russian hybrid attacks. Asked whether Paris could retaliate militarily without making it public, the source replied: “That is already happening.”

It reads like an attempt to square the circle - still maintain that France's support for Ukraine should be debated, but accepting Russia as a threat, including acknowledging Russia's hybrid actions such as in Leipzig.

After Macron's briefing yesterday, Le Pen and Bardella feel compelled to clarify their position on Russia and Ukraine:
"These debates are legitimate. Foreign pressure is not.
We will never tolerate a foreign power, in this case Russia, hoping to dictate our country's policy directly or indirectly"
