To understand why Trump is hitting new lows, it is worth looking under the hood at his ratings on individual issues. Since April, he has absolutely tanked on the cost of living - an issue which, ironically, is directly due to his misadventures in the Middle East.

This is all true, but I think the future of US trade policy under a Democratic administration depends on (1) which Democrat we are talking about, (2) what is the makeup of Congress, and (3) what else is going on with US domestic and foreign policy at that time.

Donald Trump's UN speech was full of exaggerations, including claims about stopping wars and the US economy. His aggressive remarks towards Cuba and Iran are particularly concerning, given the UN's purpose is cooperation, not threats. Cuba rightly pushed back against his falsehoods. #diplomacy #UNGA
