Waking up to the news that the US has bombed Venezuela, kidnapped its president, and will now seek to decide its fate (i.e. “liberate” its natural resources). We don’t have money for basic infrastructure in our local communities, but we can always start new wars? Absolutely sickening.

They froze CCAP this week.
In 2005, I became a single mom of 4 without notice and relied on food stamps, CCAP, TANF, Medicaid, etc. to sustain us through a difficult few years. Like most recipients, I went on to create a sustainable income and pay taxes back into the same safety net that caught my young family.

This program (in my area is CCAP) has been a huge help for me since my family is in PR. And I know it’ll affect a lot of families in my area. My son will be heartbroken if he can no longer go to after school care. His school offers morning and afternoon care for working families.

As a retired teacher, I can tell you, we are finger printed and our pasts are thoroughly investigated. CCAP, everything. These nominees though, it doesn’t seem to matter what terrorists they hang with.
