An entire article about the ways #ClimateChange is decimating the Bourdeux wine region of France — that never mentions the words “climate change.”

This is journalistic malpractice.

Not even high-school papers leave out such necessary context.

Only 40% of Brits think the recent heatwave was 'very likely' down to climate change.

Yet #climate scientists say it was "virtually impossible" without human-caused warming.

The link went unmentioned in nearly 3/4 of news stories, so the media is letting us down.

The Trump Regime is banning the mention of climate change by the DOE, and we all agree this is authoritarian, right?

But the mainstream news media reports on extreme weather without mentioning the words "climate change" *all the time*.

Just think about that for a second.

🚨 The news-media is utterly failing to cover these momentous scientific findings.

The public is not being informed of the danger posed.

The UK chief scientist Dame Angela McLean just highlighted this as an issue of national security - why are no news outlets covering it ?!? 🤯

Stopping indoor smoking was very controversial. Like ending #fossilfuel burning is now controversial.

Be like one of those annoying people who wouldn't be silenced and won indoor smoking bans. #endclimatesilence
I lived thru the end of public smoking. Early in my career I presented to city councils who were smoking, in front of audiences who were smoking.

Smoking in restaurants, airplanes, hospitals…

All of that seems insane now, but it was very controversial when we DID change it.

We CAN change things.
It’s crazy that people used to be able to just smoke cigarettes wherever they wanted

Again, Trump talks about climate change all the time. He lies about clean energy all the time.

BECAUSE HE KNOWS PEOPLE CARE ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AND LIKE CLEAN ENERGY

Trump always tries to shape people’s ideas about things to justify his own doings.

Trump: "I don't think Saudi Arabia would like me too much if we decided to kill oil and natural gas. There's nothing like it. It works. Windmills don't work. Other things -- I don't want to get it into too much -- but they don't work. What does work is natural gas, oil, nuclear, and other things."

This is the actual reality of our situation. This is actually happening. (Although CO2 is currently around 427ppm and rising ever faster.)

This fact is part of the story.

Stop suppressing it.

The political impact of extreme weather depends a lot on how we talk about that weather.

If journalists, elected officials, and other trusted messengers explicitly link extreme weather to climate change, then "climate change worry" and "support for government action" rises.

I counted 8 of those in my feed today, vs just 1 that named climate change directly.

Why does this matter? Research shows that making this connection changes how people see it.
