It was pouring rain when I was in Quebec City. I couldn’t play up the color, but I did wonders with the gloom…

I captured a timeless moment of connection and learning. The black-and-white tones beautifully highlight the bond between the adult and baby elephant—a moment of pure tenderness and wisdom. 🐘

Capturing a surfer’s shadow perfectly aligned with the morning light is all about timing—this one shot was worth the wait.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you see this shot? Love to know your thoughts in the comment.

Time for a little photography tip: cropping!

I often crop photos to remove unwanted distractions, (but take a wider shot to give me a bit of room to decide what to crop when processing).

Here's a very subtle example from today - cropped version first, uncropped second.

#phototip Framing. Use framing to make your subject more interesting. Thumb Butte is interesting but when framed, it’s more interesting. Use trees, bushes and whatever is in front of you to fully or partially frame your scene.

Over the last week in the morning I keep seeing beautiful spiderwebs. No matter how I try to photograph them they never look good. This is the best i could do. Anyone got a good tip on how to photograph spiderwebs.

Good tip for street photographers. Look around, look for patterns, textures, geometric shapes, lines, but most importantly, check your composition. Use the rule of thirds, golden ratio, repetition, balance, symmetry or whatever you want but be intentional.

Using a stone arch as a natural frame instantly creates depth and pulls attention toward the sunset. Pair it with off center subject placement to let the landscape breathe. #photographytips

Use curving mountain trails as implied leading lines to pull the viewer straight through your frame. Pairing the path with a subject placed on the third creates instant depth and scale. #photographytips

Crouching low to catch out of focus foreground flowers instantly gives landscape shots three-dimensional depth and immersion. Pair it with a subject on the third to anchor the scale. 🏔️ #PhotographyTips
