Looks like a bunch more people are joining, so here is an intro thread on me! 🧵

👋🏼 Hi, I’m Alex!
♾️ I’m #ActuallyAutistic!
💼 I’m an Engineering Manager at Thumbtack.
⏮️ Previously at Twitter, Wayfair, and Microsoft.
📱 Before I became a manager, I was an #iOS developer. I still do #iOSDev on the side.

Most heatmaps use rectangular grids, but with Swift Charts we can use PointPlots to arrange cells with alternative shapes. In my new post, we explore hexagonal cells for spatial data.

So do I got any set lovers? I made an app where you could basically practice or play for fun completely free.

I made it to get better and beat my basically pro of a girlfriend. Sound useful or should I keep it in my game folder? #setgame #iosdev #gamedev #cardgame

A quick photo of @potch.app on a demo iPhone 18... wait… though I think I'll pass on actually installing it, haha 😅.
Still, I can't wait to see the iPhone Duo. Designing an interface that folds just right is going to be a fun challenge.

This #Xcode 16 feature is probably one of my favorite ones: pasting content directly into a new file without creating it first. Just copy the content, select the preferred directory, and paste it from the clipboard. That's it.

Stretchy headers are a common pattern in iOS apps where the image expands as the user pulls down. We can create this effect in SwiftUI using the visualEffect() modifier without changing the image frame. I've just published a post about it: nilcoalescing.com/blog/Stretch...
