How my chimney stack didn’t blow down last night - a walloper of a storm!

Lost broadband but everything’s back thank goodness

I feel for the Cornish areas which had already been battered by Goretti

For those asking about #StormIngrid which is impacting France today, thankfully the storm will weaken as it moves up towards Ireland over next 36 hours but it will bring us a wet and windy Saturday with strongest winds into Southeast and East. Plenty more rain too sadly with risk of flooding

#StormIngrid keeps spinning rain in from the Southeast with the center clear to see on the radar and satellite loops. Over 20mm has fallen at my station today up to 5pm with 122mm for the month and 90mm of that in the last week!

A noisy night with wind and rain and over 10mm has fallen in parts of Southeast. Heaviest rain moving West at present but more to come as #StormIngrid steers in more rain from Southeast. Yellow rain warning issued for Wicklow with over 70mm possible on mountains in next 24hrs!

The seawall at Dawlish was badly breached 11 years ago. £80m has been spent 'upgrading' it.

It appears to have been breached again 🙄

UPDATE 1040 #Torcross is really taking the brunt of #StormIngrid. Really sad to see houses on front damaged...some...road on Slapton line undermined but no doubt Council will investigate when safe. It is currently CLOSED.
