Classifies quantum phases by their ability to preserve and fault-tolerantly transfer quantum information through noisy circuits. Proves finite-depth LC circuits connecting stable states preserve information under noise, and demonstrates 2D/3D color codes belong to the same fau...

5 if we count acquisitions

man... code lyoko might be really formulaic and have a shoddy eng dub job, but i kinda never wanna stop watching it. it's elevated a lot by its concept and the 2d-3d combo, but the group dynamic is just awesome and the action is total kid power fantasy.

he's talking about how the 3D models are relatively visually simple but move so expressively while the 2D portraits are static but full of visual flair, giving two views into their characterization, this is something I haven't even thought of, this is the deepest analysis I've ever seen from him

Ngl, love the art style of the animation, 3D render just looks so nice with this aesthetic here, makes any frame feel like a 2D shot.

Hope to see more of this in the future.

Traditional 2D animators had degrees too. When CGI took over, they either learned the new 3D tools or left the industry. If you choose to work outside your field rather than learn the new workflow, your job wasn't stolen. You just refused to adapt, exactly like the 2D purists did.

I had an idea with UEFN, where I'd make a full map meant solely for the backgrounds of my art, where I can have 2d characters in a 3d environment so it would save time and look pretty with lumen lighting, didn't go through with it, but maybe I can revisit that idea in the future.

Alright, Flood Returns is almost ready for the next update, from 2D to 3D. Learned a lot, feel good about it. Now I know C++ so that's a thing I've always meant to get around to.

I could be entirely wrong, but I think 2D animators are protected so they literally cost more than 3D animators? I think I heard that somewhere?

I'm switching from 2D because 3D was my original vision from the very beginning. I realize now that I didn't actually need to start with 2D just to learn programming and all sorts of gamedev. I probably should have started with 3D instead of wasting time on projects that don't support my goal.

What kind of game? 2D, 3D, stylized, realistic, multiplayer? Or do you envision a bit of everything?
October 12, 2026 at 8:36 PM
Eh, once you start saying that leaving 3D turned on is the "right" way to play, then you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. Nintendo always knew that most people didn't play with the 3D slider turned on. That's why every game supported 2D play from day 1. No one was "wrong" for turning it off.
October 12, 2026 at 8:36 PM
You're allowed to have strong opinions on the 3D screen, but many won't agree with you. Only a handful of games have only small compromises with no 3D. The 2DS and 2DSXL sold well. Nintendo was happy to have you play any 3DS game in 2D. Most people played without any 3D.

Graphically, the game has a very unique style and look I love. A mix between rotoscoped 2D characters and a 3D world filled with dark blues and violent reds.

Audio wise, the game is a treat and a good pair of headphones really adds to the experience. Is that screaming or the wind?
