Everyone gets a trophy mentality. No child left behind, Iep's 504plans allowed skirting accountability yet play under the Friday night lights. Sports/local fame above academics. So fame in the presidency without decency tracks. We bring up the next bar league in this country not the next great mind.

Seventeen states just filed suit to abolish 504 accommodations. Another hard hit for Americans living with disabilities and differences. Even if nothing comes of it, the suit is insulting to the special needs community.

We can’t let this happen. Mango Mussolini must be stopped. All children rely on the support and protection from the DOE. 504plans, IEPs, those with all different disabilities as well as the rights of ALL school children need to be protected by the DOE.

I hear you! I'm a mom to an adult child w/ADHD (now a SPED teacher) & pediatrician who has written a lot of letters in support of 504Plans. The students who benefit are AMAZING! People associate special needs with being incapable, but they are often bright -even gifted. Supporting them is important.

Not a ding on any of the legacy/lineage orgs; like I said I am eligible for them myself, and I do intend to eventually enroll as well. I'm just worried about a lot of other stuff ahead of scholarships, like #504Plans (which have come under attack since this article dated Feb 2025, etc.)

You don’t have to be an expert to support your child’s education. Knowing what to track can help you advocate with confidence.
