Dang that unlocked some memories. I never developed anything but I looked into it when I was in high school programming classes and had an HP 620LX.

Vaguely connected - I've got an HP 620LX somewhere and I'd love to test it out. But I've no idea if it even works because it didn't have a charger with it. So naturally I looked on eBay and they cost a fortune - far too much to just try out a device that might not even work!

My dad had one of those Jornadas. It’s the only one of his HPs he didn’t hand down to me (100LX, 200LX and 620LX is what he had before). I remember being obsessed with the keyboard.

oh, agreed, but when the 620LX came out I was already working at Microsoft. I've got boxes full of CE devices. They're probably next to my boxes of Windows Phones (I miss my Nokia 1020 - that was a great phone).

Coincidentally, I stumbled upon this just now, but it's a semi-dead end because it involves soldering to use with a non-HP charger: www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forum...

Oooh, a mysterious secret place! It's good to know that all worked out so well though. With this 620LX, I've no idea if the battery even works as it hasn't been used for well over 15 years now. (I've never used it so I don't know when the previous owner last switched it on.)
