It's not often... but every few months, one of our sensor drivers stops working due to hardware changes. It happened this week with the AHT20 tester - for some reason, it doesn't init anymore!

Turns out the secret calibration command no longer exists on AHTs; a quick PR https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_AHTX0/pull/13 , and we're back in business!
new AHT20's are acting funky and may 'fail' on the calibration command (but still say calibrated!) b...
so we don't require the command to work anymore

Les DHT t'as le 11 qui est le plus basique, le 22 qui est le plus précis.

Lunchtime project complete. I've just added an AHT20 to the Everything Smarthome Presence Lite. Took 10 minutes but I am getting so high readings in #HomeAssistant, definitely not 29° in the kitchen!

Ooh ooh! Yes that one's good! It takes the device address, then an 8-bit "command" (register address) and then either you send 8 bits of data or stop and switch to read mode. The BMI160 accelerometer works this way as well.
The AHT20 demands varying data lengths and the GXHT30 uses 16-bit commands!

We need a few more components to rectify/average the square wave signal, this is our rough draft. on the attiny816 we might be able to generate a 5 or 10MHz square wave. we also moved the AHT20 to be on a second set of pins we'll bitbang to read the temp/humidity.

so the new temp/humidity sensor is working well on my homebrew weather station (AHT20 replaced with a SHT45)
the SHT45 sensor has a builtin heater so i can dry the sensor element so it don't drift
just needs a 0.1s low heat each cycle if the humidity is above 90%,

So I think I can try rebuilding my weather station. I can get that ESP32-S3 to serve up the sensor data to an RRD on my home server and I'll have a graph of weather data over time. I'll add that real time clock board too later when I have more standoffs.
