There's also this weird idea that's been floating around that the ARNG is nothing but crack riot goon squads, and while I'm sure the CA ARNG has some MP companies that did crowd control training once sometime in the last 24 months, that mostly isn't in any way the case
My hunch is that, as we saw with Lafayette Park, National Guard troops are not going to be as compliant as this administration thinks. It’s one thing to unleash cops consumed by warrior cop culture on neighborhoods. Quite another to send reservists who are also accountants, barbers, and teachers.

I’m not a doomer, but we have seen Trump inflict suffering on millions in Iran and consolidate its hardline regime because he was hyped up after the “easy” Venezuela operation. He’s suggested regime change in Cuba. Who knows what he might try in our elections with all the power at his disposal?
It can simultaneously be true that the claims are a tired/incoherent rehash, AND it was newsworthy because he said he’s sending the administration in to “work with” states that got hacked. That’s basically announcing interference, or am I missing something?
