Mistigram: This nostalgic #textmode #Unicode (or #unsiart) scene of a rented VHS cassette (animated on platforms that are GIF-friendly) is the deft handiwork of @mc.fresher, likely made on #DurDraw, and was included in the MIST0625 artpack collection released one year ago this month.

I just found a tiny app, I've written a few years ago, on my website. I didn't remember this and I still don't know for what purpose or in what context.

Anyway, "Image to ATASCII Parser" parses Atari 8-bit 1:1 screenshots to ATASCII codes:

Mistigram: this nifty-galifty portrait (and logo!) of the puppet #XtheOwl from #MrRogersNeighborhood was drawn by @kirkman.bsky.social and placed 5th in the 2025 #ATASCII art compo of #textmode art for Atari 8-bit computers. It was also included in last month's unthemed MIST0226 artpack collection.

Mistigram: aside from some computer music, nearly everything in the new, unthemed MIST0226 artpack that just dropped is some form or another of #textart and #textmode art - here is a sampling of specimens of #ASCIIart, #ANSIart, #ATASCII, #PETSCII and #ShiftJIS contained therein.

I entered the #ATASCII compo for the first time this year. I came in 2nd-to-last, but I was happy with my drawing: X the Owl from "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."
