that argument didn't work out for them during cambridge analytica. it didn't keep NSO from getting blacklisted, sued, and diminished due to reputational damage. and it didn't stop the youtube adpocalypse.

On top of that a lot of the legacy videos opening with a lot of front-loaded profanity required years of whack-a-mole with content appeals after the Adpocalypse introduced Limited Monetization (hence the numerous reissues of old videos as full seasons or clip compilations)

The adpocalypse on Twitter is so fascinating. I used to get completely normal ads for domestic shit like dish soap or laundry detergent as promoted posts. Now it's evangelical shit and, sometimes, straight up schizoposts
