Install AdBlockPlus in your browser, it's free. I've never seen ONE single ad while watching Y.T. on my P.C. in over 20 years.

Youtube started getting vastly annoying by turning off ABP on my browser and refreshing the page to show ads. Ads would play about every 4 minutes.
I had hope AdblockPlus would have stopped this intrusion from YT, but alas...
Thankfully uBlockOrigin seems to be working well!

Youtube started getting vastly annoying by turning off ABP on my browser and refreshing the page to show ads. Ads would play about every 4 minutes.

The combo of ubo, adblockplus and ghostery means I never see ads on YouTube. It's so jarring to load the app on my phone and get bombarded

Tähän mennessä AdBlockPlus on onnistui blokkaamaan HS:n sivuston mainokset, mutta nyt jotain on muutettu ja sivu on täynnä tekstin väliin ponnahtelevaa mainostilkkutäkkiä. Jokohan pitäisi lopettaa maksaminen HS:lle kun samat klikkiotsikot ja mainokset näkee halutessaan iltalehdistä ilmaiseksikin. 🫤

Blocking advertising is a great way to remove a lot of your wants. xine or mplayer or VLC skips the ads on DVDs, AdBlockPlus on firefox removes most of the ads from the www. Fewer ads = more happiness AFAICT as modern ads are built to make your current (whatever) seem inadequate.

DuckDuckGo is slightly less terrible than Google if only for no GAN summary, and claims not to track you. AdBlockPlus or uBlock Origin gets rid of the vast majority of ads; install that everywhere you can (may require Firefox.)

I use Firefox with AdBlockPlus. Most of these sites are unreadable w/o and adblocker.
I'm not putting much effort into making Youtube functional. Not worth it.

Ublock is still working for me, disable adblockplus if you have it to stop the popup.

Just a reminder: if you still need to spend time on the bad site, these Chrome extensions make the experience considerably less shitty:
Blueblocker - blocks all blue check accounts; has whitelist
Bluesblocker - same
AdBlockPlus - blocks ads in your timeline
MinimalTwitter - removes trending stuff
