I get asked why I talk about adoptee rights more than trans rights- that's bc my fellow trans people don't recognize adoptee rights.
I also get more angry at transmedicalists instead of cis transphobes. Bc they should fucking know better.

i think raising awareness and doing what you can to grant visibility to adoptee voices is always helpful, because there's a lot of work to do there; there are a bunch of adoptee advocate orgs, mostly local and on the smaller side. i like adoptees for justice.

Working with kids means that i have to work with a bunch of adoptive parents (tone negative, i am an adoptee in favor of adoption system reform or perhaps abolition), including white families who have adopted children of color with no understanding of how to meet their needs. It's bad and gross!

And like car centrism, the understanding of what adoption is and is for is very skewed society- wise, not by party, and it can be hard for adoptee voices to break through to point out that it is a system, as currently practiced, that benefits and is used by the powerful.
